The one-paragraph answer
Revolut works at casinos as a card, not as a wallet button. Its cards run on the Visa and Mastercard networks, so any cashier that takes card deposits will normally accept one — which, in practice, is most of the Irish-facing market. What decides your actual experience is card mechanics: whether the casino’s processor accepts gambling card payments, whether withdrawals go back to the card or by bank transfer, and whether you used a standard or disposable virtual card. Each of those is covered below, along with the feature that makes Revolut genuinely different for gambling: the built-in block.
How a Revolut casino deposit actually works
At the cashier you pick Visa/Mastercard, enter your Revolut card details, and approve the payment in-app — the same flow as any debit card, usually instant. Three Revolut-specific behaviours worth knowing:
- Virtual cards work like physical ones at online cashiers, and many players prefer them for not exposing a physical card number online.
- Disposable virtual cards regenerate after each use. Fine for a one-off deposit — but a poor choice if you ever want a withdrawal routed back to the card, because the number it would return to no longer exists. If you might cash out, deposit with a standard card.
- The name must match. Casinos verify identity (KYC) and expect the depositing card to be yours; paying from someone else’s Revolut is a standard reason for a blocked withdrawal at any casino.
One thing you’ll rarely see is a dedicated “Revolut” logo in a cashier — absence of the logo does not mean Revolut won’t work. It means the casino lists the rail (Visa/Mastercard), not the issuer.
The gambling block: Revolut’s most useful gambling feature
Documented in Revolut’s own help pages, and worth knowing even if you never use it:
- Off by default. Turning it on blocks card payments identified as gambling — online casinos, bookmakers, betting shops — immediately.
- Turning it off takes 48 hours. The cooling-off period is deliberate friction and can’t be bypassed — a genuinely well-designed responsible-gambling control, because it separates the impulse from the action.
- Its scope is card payments. Bank transfers and payments through third-party apps are not caught by it — so treat it as a strong speed bump, not a wall.
If you’re using deposit limits at the casino side, the block is the matching control on the payment side. Set both before a long session, not after.
Withdrawals: the part to check before you deposit
Getting money out is where Revolut setups differ from casino to casino. Some cashiers return funds to the depositing card; others accept card deposits but pay out only by bank transfer — which lands fine in an Irish Revolut account (Irish IBANs have been standard on personal accounts since early 2023), just on bank-transfer timing rather than card timing. The two rules that prevent most problems: don’t deposit with a disposable card if you plan to withdraw, and read the casino’s withdrawal-methods list before your first deposit — it’s published in every cashier or terms page, and it’s the single most useful thing to check about any casino you’re new to.
Revolut in Ireland, specifically
Irish customers are served by Revolut Bank UAB — a bank licensed in the EU (granted by the European Central Bank in December 2021) and supervised via the Bank of Lithuania, operating in Ireland under EU passporting. Personal accounts in Ireland have carried Irish IBANs since early 2023, which matters for casino bank-transfer withdrawals: an IE IBAN behaves like any Irish account for incoming transfers. Deposit protection runs through the Lithuanian deposit guarantee scheme (up to €100,000), not the Irish Deposit Guarantee Scheme — a distinction worth knowing whatever you use the account for.
What we’ve verified — and what we haven’t
Honesty section, same standard as every Irish page we publish. Verified: the casinos on our Irish roster in euro — offers, qualifying minimums and (for several) the operators’ own dedicated Irish pages, all captured over a Dublin connection in July 2026 and listed on our minimum deposit and casino bonuses pages. Not yet verified: per-brand Revolut acceptance inside those cashiers — that requires opening real cashiers, and it’s the next scheduled verification pass. Until then this page makes no per-brand Revolut claims, and any site giving you a confident “Revolut casino list” without saying how it was tested is guessing. When our cashier pass lands, the per-brand results will appear here, dated.
Play responsibly
Revolut’s gambling block plus a casino-side deposit limit is a strong pair of controls — set them before you play, not after a bad night. Treat bonuses as conditional money, never chase losses, and remember instant payments make it easier to spend quickly in both directions. You must be 18 or older to gamble in Ireland. If gambling stops being fun, free and confidential support is available — see our responsible gambling page.
